News Update 26/02/2005
A new design replacement Mini cv joint has been developed – the splined stub is identical to the existing Mini application fitting a standard hub, but the internal components have been increased in size, allowing a greater load bearing capacity. High tensile steel cages can be fitted to allow even greater power transmission. Axle bars to suit this new design are also available.
DriveLink have increased its range of reinforced, high load outer cv joint applications now encompassing popular models including Citroen, Ford ,Peugeot, Renault, Rover, and Vauxhall. All items are fitted with a high tensile steel cage which greatly increases load bearing qualitities of the outer cv joint.
These items are ideally suited for applications where larger engines/increased power outputs have been applied to vehicles without upgrade of the front wheel hubs.
Our latest range of high tensile inner cv joints for Peugeot /Citroen applications are now available including a variety of both short and long designs with optional reinforced steel sleeving to stop joint distortion. The complete inner joint is machined from high tensile steel offering greatly increased power transmission capability and resistance to failure.
The popular Ford Escort MK2 rally car rear axle design is now available in both standard material and high tensile steel options.
We now produce a range of front wheel hub retainers to suit any standard front wheel hub design. BMW and Ford applications are currently proving most popular.
We currently are increasing our range of high tensile steel driving flanges, manufacturers covered to date include Nissan, Subaru and Mitsibushi. We can manufacture any option based upon an original customer sample.
Specialist driveshafts currently in development include a new design for the specialist collectors vehicle the Haflinger ,a lightweight four wheel drive vehicle, manufactured by Steyer Daimler Puch from 1959 to 1974. This item is expected to be available June 2005.
News Update 04/09/2004
Due to the increasing demand from the racing sector DriveLink are now producing high tensile steel CV joint cages to strengthen the integrity of the outer CV joint for certain popular applications.
Current applications include Vauxhall/Opel Corsa MK1 and Nova, Astra/Cavalier MK3 and Calibra 2.0 8V &2.0 16V.
These applications are popular conversions which normally result in increased power through standard CV joints ultimately resulting in failure of the weakest component.
We also are currently producing the left hand (short shaft) inner CV joint in high tensile steel for Peug 205/306/309/405/406 and Citroen Xantia/Xsara/ZX applications.
As mentioned above this appears to be failing on uprated vehicles in its standard form. We have substantially increased this components integrity to overcome this problem-this option is available for both standard and ZF gearbox options.
News Update 08/01/2004
After investment in new engineering processes and machinery, Drivelink will be re-building the aluminium throwaway type power steering pump early in 2004. This pump has been inherently difficult to remanufacture because of the excessive wear in certain internal components.
It has an increasing application range and is utilised extensively by Audi, BMW, Citroen / Peugot, Fiat / Lancia, Nissan and Toyota.
